When the warmer weather is back in the spring and summer, Happy Hour takes place from 3-5pm. This place has what they need to succeed, my suggestion would be to stick with the basics and experiment with care. This is a perfect way to experience some of their delicious appetizers, such as Raw Oysters, Cheese Pizza, Firecracker Shrimp, and Cobalt Caviar, and take in the stunning views to wrap up the day. I could suggest having some fish dip in the nicely appointed and well lit bar area and stay away from the overhyped restaurant. I love eating out and letting myself be spoilt, I just can't recommend spending time at Cobalt. Happy hour starts at 2 pm and the firecracker shrimp was a terrific appetizer and the Happy Hour price of 5 cant be beat. I am truly sorry for giving this place such a poor rating, I WANTED to like it, love it even because there are just not enough descent places around. The oddest thing that night was a giant sweet potato cake, half the size of the plate as an accompaniment to the duck, odd. We now offer curb side and take out service until further notice. As our nation faces COVID-19, we will continue with our high standards to ensure you have the ultimate dining experience. The baguette literally crumbled to pieces when cutting, a tell-tale sign of a poorly made bread. Here at Cobalt we pride ourselves on our proven history of cleanliness and regulation. The bread was homemade but fell short of quality control. (my suggestion would be something from the Riedel glassware range). Where is the attention to detail? Surely someone at the restaurant should have noticed that this is completely wrong. They felt like heavy, cheap ice tea glasses rather than the delicate vessels they should be. When the waiter brought them over and put them on the wooden table with a thud, my wife and I both stared at each other. Another disappointment was the poor quality of wine glasses used. Our patio features live music several days a week, fans when it's. Food style is considered contemporary American while beverage offerings include craft and classic cocktails, a hand-picked wine list, a large and ever-changing whiskey selection, great craft beers, and more. We felt like leaving but decided to give them a chance. Specialties: Cobalt Smoke & Sea offers a truly seasonal menu from both an experienced executive chef and a mixologist duo. The wine list was again very disappointing, seemed to be put together by the wine rep of Southern Wine rather than carefully and thoughtfully curated by a dedicated staff member. Happy Hour Menu is not available for Take-Out. I live in Florida and know that folks around these parts tend to eat on the early side but to basically be out of most of the interesting mains by 7:30 seems to me to be a little strange. We were seated around 7:30 pm and were promptly told that three of the five main courses were no longer available. What is missing here is any serious focus on food. It started with a happy hour glass of wine, then a great Read more. Park on us Enjoy complimentary Valet Parking when dining at Cobalt or Heatons. The bar will remain open 4PM-8:30PM with a limited food menu. The décor and ambience is spot on, the deck is nice and inviting. Friday & Saturday 5PM - 10 PM Heaton’s Deck will close Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday for dinner after happy hour (4PM). I have to say that we were very disappointed. And to top it all off, my kids both order the hanger steak (which had a very strong sauce and it was just fair tasting) and both got diarrhea within about 10 minutes of eating their meal.Visited Cobalt on a weekday, we had very much looked forward to a real treat. If that's the case they should not do the room service. They said they were just very busy that night. I have never had to wait 2 hours for food before and I consider it completely unreasonable. The person on the phone said every single one of them was helping to get it out to us and that is the reason no one called - over 2 hours later. Finally someone called me after we waited 2 1/4 hours to tell me that the tray of food had been dropped and that they were all feverishly making new food for us. The restaurant never called to update me on what was happening (actually no one did and thats why I had to keep calling). In the end I had to call the desk 4 or 5 times. I called the desk at the hotel and they said they would check on it. I called down to ask where the food was and no one picked up the phone. Two and half hours later our food showed up. ![]() ![]() I thought that was long but we were tired and went with it. But the hostess who took the order said probably up to an hour. We ordered room service and were given a wait time of an hour to hour and a quarter. They can not handle being a separate restaurant and provide room service. Cobalt is the provider of the room service at the Kimpton Vero Beach hotel.
